Powering Off-Grid Communities
KAPSCO works to create power for off-grid communities.
Light up Kagarko
KAPSCO partnered with Renewable Energy and Environment Sustainability (REES) to install a total of 2kW community modeled solar systems in Obio, and Sarki communities and as a result, improved health and eyesight for women and children particularly as they are primary energy users as well as improved security as a result of proper lighting.
Grid Connectivity /survey of communities
We partnered with RUWASSA to complete a survey of grid connectivity status of 7,750 communities, which now provides robust access to information made readily available for off-grid Solar Investors.
Solar for Civil Servants
KAPSCO, in collaboration with the Kaduna State Government (KDSG) and Rural Electrification Agency (REA) is working on leveraging the Solar Power Naija Initiative of the Federal Government to connect the Kaduna State Civil Service workers to off-grid power supply.
Rehabilitation of 12 Mini-grids
We surveyed 12 Mini-grids with the aim of rehabilitating them for commercial use. This Mini-grids installed in Markarfi, Zaria, Birnin-Gwari, Chikun, Lere, Kauru, Igabi, Jema’s, Sanga, Kajuru and Kachia, has the Potential to boost economic activities in the affected communities.
